Spent yesterday immersing myself in stories about the early web, including re-watching the documentary “Home Page” which was recently re-released after 20 years. Although I wasn’t much of a computer user then, that film feels so much like that time to me it’s shocking. https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/home-page
@matthewbogart Just finished watching it & man, did it bring up feelings. It was a special, optimistic time and things really progressed nicely there for a while. It makes me more than a little sad about where things ended up all these years later.
Rather than dwell on that, though, I'll choose to remember the magic of managing web projects from my dorm room, how it led me to having my favorite artist perform at my wedding a few years later, and the connections I made that persist to this day.
