I'm no fan of Facebook, but the #infosec trend of blaming consumers for giving away information, or saying we should all live in a hole doesn't help. Mozilla's trying to mitigate FB's worst habits, so people can keep using it. It's an idea worth exploring, and one I'm happy to see.

@maxeddy I have to agree. I avoid using it, and other similar, but for some sutff I would like to have that kind of possibility. For example, as an olympic weightlifter, there is a huge community on Instagram I keep myself out of atm, but with a way to completely isolate it so I would be able to control what I give Instagram, I would be able to join, and have a conscious use of it, without fearing all the sneaky habits of those services.
@maxeddy Maybe Facebook should be a trusted holder of a billions peoples personal info.I somehow dont see that happening. 😀
@maxeddy Accessibility is, in certain respects, why many users stay with FB. I agree that blaming FB users is unproductive. FB takes advantage of less Internet-literate / privacy conscious folks, so Mozilla is offering the possibility of a happy medium. Makes sense.
@maxeddy yeah, blaming people for using a service isn't going to fix that service for fucking up
