That’s ... not what that’s for, cat. #catsofmastadon
So ladylike. #catsofmastodon
Why is everything hard and why are people so annoying? Why is there a 2-hour meeting scheduled for something that should take 20 minutes? I think I'm hitting burnout and need a couple of vacation days.
I just spent two months' rent on a MacBook Pro. Gulp. I have cheap rent, but still.
I just want to go home and take a nap with them. #catsofmastodon
I keep thinking that I don't know that much about UX yet, then I see what other people do...
Noooooooo! Why would anyone do this UI???
So I spent a chunk of my afternoon setting up an AOL email address and an Angelfire website. #timetravel #the90sareback
I made a frittata with spinach and portobello mushrooms for breakfasts this week and I feel like maybe this is something I should not microwave at work. The odor. It is strong.
I would really love it if my brain would stop trying to tunnel its way out of my skull. You are not being held hostage, brain. Stay where it's warm and cozy. #migraineseason
My mantra today: Not my monkeys, not my circus.
I bought a package of vegan pad thai to make for lunch, but did I eat that? No, reader. I went out for a bacon avocado burger. AND I HAVE NO REGRETS.
Poop Tracks is not the Name of My Next Band, but it is the Name of My Next Album. #lifewithcats #catsofmastodon
Second day of Spring.
Will 23andMe tell me what percentage of my DNA is bear? It's snowing and all I want to do is pack on calories and hibernate.
Why are alarm clocks a thing? Why can't people just wake up when they wake up and get places when they get places?
The author comes to the same ultimate conclusion: "...The built-in incentives on Twitter and Facebook reward speed over depth, hot takes over facts and seasoned propagandists over well-meaning analyzers of news.
You don’t have to read a print newspaper to get a better relationship with the news. But, for goodness’ sake, please stop getting your news mainly from Twitter and Facebook. In the long run, you and everyone else will be better off."
Fascinating read from the NY Times. I'm trying a similar experiment, albeit staying in a curated digital ecosystem rather than going back to print. I deleted all of the news outlets from my social media feeds and instead have the ones I subscribe to bookmarked in a browser folder and am carving out time each day to read them, sort of like getting the paper in the morning. No more stream, no more shouting comments sections.
