I'm increasingly thinking of the shutdown as a way to accellerate privatization. they're Shock Doctrine-ing by creating their own man-made crisis. I can't help but think they'd love to have privately owned and run National Parks. Airports with private security firms like the one Betsy Devos' husband ran instead of the TSA (that could really help them enforce their immigration policies more brutally).

@interneteh We have a similar situation in when conservatives get in government. They slash budgets and cut the scope of government to the bone, then complain about how little the bureaucracy does, how long it takes to get service, and how ineffective they are. This is happening in now, as they recently elected a mini-Trump named Doug Ford.

I am sure the same thing happens in the US and elsewhere as well.
