A little while ago, @brion asked if anyone had ever made a Biblically-Correct Angel Food Cake.

I couldn't find any, but having watched several seasons of Great British Bake-Off during the pandemic I felt that I, too, could do ridiculous things with cake.

Happy Easter!

(Ezekiel 1:16-18: "This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel... Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.”)

food

Cake is regular angel food. Gold finish is edible luster dust, some dry-painted and some suspended in lemon sugar glaze.

Googly eyes are googly eyes, stuck on with honey. (The eyes are not edible.)

Photo by my partner Greg... who also said it tasted good.

("So, should I cut you side or wing?")

Also I cannot believe I posted the cake without finding an excuse to slip in a Multiocular O: ꙮꙮꙮ

food

It is a little unsettling cleaning the disconnected crumb-covered googly eyes off of plates.

food

It looks almost *cute* in its partially-eaten state, like some sort of small sea creature.

Do not be deceived.

@mindspillage
Wow, I thought I knew my Cyrillic. But there it is in Unicode. Now I too want to find a way to weave it in to my regular correspondence.

food

@mindspillage Oh my goodness now I know what I want to do for my birthday. Or Christmas. Or every holiday.

food

@mindspillage It looks like a very odd Pac-Man now.
