@minnermann nothing. Now, if we're talking the entire #Fediverse, not just Mastodon, then not having your data owned by a corporation is quite nice.
And being able to follow an account without any extra steps like getting folk to follow a bridge account that also demands specific searching that's different from standard.
@CWSmith @minnermann nobody on either platform has to do that unless they're trying to interact with people on the other platform.
I think this post is asking what's better about each platform independent of one another.
Unless the added it then being able to setup and establish an independent instance on Mastodon is definitely a better thing.
