I want to thank people here on LR instance.
Earlier today I was a bit frustrated on the amount of complaints we get from other instances because we refuse to take a political stands and refuse to ban users who may post or reply with a political comment that is different from their views.
We have never censored anyone from their political view. We are a linux instance and value open and free and value differences.
Your responses have shown me we are doing things right.

LR Users are awesome

Oh well! The free version of #Fedilab has been removed by Google.

I know people started to report it. But... Why the reason is for "payments policy violation"? I appealed for that but I will not re-upload anything for this version.

Don't forget to get it with #Fdroid: f-droid.org/en/packages/fr.gou

or the version built from sources. Follow @mastalab for links to apk.

Strangely, the paid version is not *currently* affected.

Don't miss the forest for the trees. This awesome movement away from proprietary social "networking" just won its first battle. A silo has been assimilated. And this is just the beginning. You may not like many of them or what they think or have to say, but you should be glad that more people are now using FOSS federated social networking. You can now tell them what you think of their opinions without some corporation vacuuming up your data. The size of the network just tripled.

#fun #xkcd explains what the number of digits in geographical coordinates maps to in the real world. #OpenStreetMap Precision is nice but it can as well be useless and counterproductive, especially when your measuring device has such an error margin. xkcd.com/2170/

Reminded that the Microsoft ebook store closes next week. The DRM'd books will stop working.

I cannot believe that sentence.

"The books will stop working."

I keep saying it and it sounds worse each time.

Minutes after a fraudulent charge, @RevolutApp@twitter.com tells me to wait 7 days before they can do anything about it. I'm not an expert, but is that how things are supposed to work, @MastercardEU@twitter.com? A customer says that a pending transaction is fraudulent and it doesn't get canceled?

Friendica 2019.06 Released

Thanks everyone who contributed, be it directly by committing patches or new features, doing translations or reporting issues. And now, we happily announce the availability of Friendica 2019.06. It contains many bug fixes, enhancements of existing functionality and some new features. The most noteworthy changes since the last release in March are: Added native two-factor forum.friendi.ca/objects/39bbe

Someone made a fraudulent transaction on my @RevolutApp@twitter.com card and they won't do a chargeback even though I contacted them a minute later. I contacted them numerous times right after the transaction and immediately canceled my card, yet they let the thief keep the 1100 EUR.

I've published my website on ZeroNet! At least, I think I have. The address is 15tnXxJ2e7R4MtdjYcN9B1DkGEwZR39L7y.

Isn't being unresponsive the norm for matrix.org?

Interesting read on #matrix privacy issues (reading the official response to it now, linked to the gist). Best case interpretation: even when everyone has the best intentions #privacy is hard (you don't have to be #facebook to slurp up data without explicit consent)

Thanks for writing this up stavros.io/posts/how-to-config after hours of pain (and a few self inflicted difficulties) I somehow used your guide to get a proper VPN tunnel working. Thanks very much!

We used to be the #1 alternative to Instagram on alternativeto.net/software/ins but someone marked our project as "Discontinued" because registration is closed on a specific instance.
