this week's episode of still processing is this loose lovely open-ended (sorta nsfw) set of reflections on celebrity queerness in 2018, the semiotics and experience of living through the 90s and being not-straight, movies, music, &c.
they don't quite capture the amount of fear/panic around queerness in the 'burbs back then, but then they also don't really touch on the way the internet started to open identity up in the mid-to-late 90s, either
@jernone yes! that was never my thing, but I enjoyed hearing their experiences of it
honestly, I've liked almost all of their episodes that I've listened to; I loved their obama portrait episode, too
did you catch the longform episode with jenna?
@mrgah It wasn't my thing either, but the internet was super formative for me in meeting the first queer people I knew of way back in 1992. I just saw that first queer friend of mine again at trans pride last year!
I haven't heard that longform episode! Thanks for pointing me to it!
