just posted something on FB that explains why I'm basically done with corporate social media
the twitter accounts are deleted, I've logged out of FB on all of my computers (though the account stays: it's the only way I can get in touch with a few relatives and friends from hs), and the apps were uninstalled from my phone a while ago

At this point, I’m looking for an alt for messenger, and then I’ll probably archive my photos, in case FB has any that I don’t, and delete my account.
@ajroach42 I've had real problems finding an IM program that I can host myself, does video chats, and that I can convince other people to use. Let me know if you find anything worthwhile.
