@priyankasingh @staleness @musafir
I heard that they managed to fill up the Ram Lila Maidan and there were a lot of people outside who couldn't get it. That's quite a feat in itself considering how big that ground is. Picked this up from the birdsite...
@musafir Tough to say as the entire place was overflowing. Maybe a few thousands for sure. And this wasn't an organised protest but a voluntary one. I overheard a few people saying that this was the biggest protest gatherings that they have seen. Lots of young folks - college students wearing their college names. And a few young ones, including a 10yr old who spoke about their personal experience. And some good speakers like Harsh Mander.
@Samyukth Prashant Bhusan was there too I saw in the pictures.
What was the plan of action? What next? Did they say anything?
@Samyukth Karwan-e-Mohabbat, Harsh Mandel's organization was one of the key organisers of today's protest. United Against Hate is coming up with another series of protests on the 19th December. I don't think this will be an end. From how much I know Harsh Mander and Prashant Bhushan, they will not give up. They will pursue this.
@musafir @rohanv @nit_set @sanketupadhyay @journeybasket @Stuti @sritara @ranjona @Kumar_Sambhav I have talked to people from Guwahati, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Chabua, Tinsukia, Silchar in Assam. Massive protests going on. Police have fired at people injuries many. One confirmed dead in Guwahati. People are pouring out on the streets defying curfew.
