Eggnog should be on sale all year long. There. I said it.

I've become obsessed with Football Tactics and Glory. It scratches all my gaming itches.

@Are0h
I liked your thread and comments on Code vs Culture. A lot for me to think about. Thank you!

Thanks to a recent FOIA request, the NSA has had to release lots of vintage security posters in to the public domain. This shirt is the first in a series made from those posters.

IMO, we could all use the reminder that the NSA takes security (and surveillance) seriously, and do the same ourselves.

Heya, I started an etsy shop for the geometric tiles I've been designing and lasering recently!

I have such a good feeling going into my next job. It's going to be a new language that I want to learn with a smaller group of people but people with knowledge and experience. Very exciting. I contrast with my current job where I was coming in knowing that it was PHP (not really a fan) and that the company was a dumpster fire (and was under sold on just how big a dumpster fire).

Who out there in the mastoverse has any interest in hydroponic gardening, and/or would be intrigued by a 'tower garden' hydroponic unit that you can assemble really quickly and that can produce two crops a month? (I'm involved in a local thing with some friends who've prototyped a unit and I'll be helping with their crowdfund and stuff).

Put in my two week notice at the company I work at today. Kind of anticlimactic, but that was probably cause most of my team saw it coming. So two weeks here, then a week off, then my new job where I'll be working in the Ruby stack.

Just had a job offer at the end of an on-site interview. Never had that before (granted I haven't been in the industry long so small sample size). Think I'm gonna take it, though, cause my current job hasn't turned out to be what I thought it was going to be.

You when you're trying to be clever and you come off like an idiot? Yeah, that.

ProTip: Next time someone wants you to buy something with in the description, ask them to explain how it works without using the word “like”

Holy crap! The ex_doc module for Elixir is fantastic.

Gosh, good morning, everyone.

I found a sealed roll of aluminum foil in my car this morning, and while I have no idea where it came from I'm going to take this as a good omen. A boon, perhaps, from some minor god.

May your day's journey be blessed by Alum Na'mnum-in, patron of versatile kitchen supplies.

Doing a coding challenge for a job application. Having to teach myself Ruby and Ruby on Rails to complete it. Should be fun!

I always see advice for new programmers that says "contribute to open source projects", but how do I do that? I'd like to help out on some or project, but I'm so new to that. What use would I be? Even some (which I feel more comfortable with) would be daunting.

Is there a drug that will give me that "one and a half beer" feeling all the time? Because I'd like to take that drug.

Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about?

I learned programming in an OO paradigm (Python and Javascript), but in practice I seem to work best as a functional programmer. Is that why I like Rust and Go so much? Or maybe it's just "new shiny"?
