My computer (March 2017 MacBook Pro) is being repaired and I defined my essential work setup that consists of a Mac laptop (currently Mid-2012 MacBook Air running El Capitan) and an iPhone 5. Within a work day (8 hours) I can set up all the software on both the computer and phone. That's good to know because without my computer being repaired I would have never made a list of software essentials I need to work the way I work.

Let your thoughts cook (in co-existence with your being) by giving them time to develop. Then eat, digest and dump them the next day by writing them down on your morning page.

Sky is lazy and didn't even finish painting everything in blue. Nature is such a procrastinator and prefers to take its time.

Though the title of the video ("Jim Carrey's Message from the Illuminati!") is arguably bad I like the content Jim Carrey is conveying.

I agree with the idea that you don't exist but you put layers on top of your physical existence to create an identity. These layers seem to make you important but you're actually not.

This goes hand in hand with what Fernando Pessoa said: "To act is to exile oneself." (Book of Disquiet)

A colleague made this short documentary portraits the everyday life of the Canadian monk Phra Julien who lives in the mountains of Northern Thailand.

He claims that he is “just an ordinary” monk, while he actually has some unique features…

Siehe dazu:

„The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is **surely preferable** to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.”

„In fact, no relationship should be taken for granted. They are what life is all about, the whole point. How we cultivate our relationships is often the greatest determinant of the type pf life we get to live. Business is no different.“ - Gary Vaynerchuk - „The Thank You Economy“

A seemingly simple advice but not easy to apply in real life. However, I'm trying to make 2018 a more social year and work on cultivating relationships - as a person and a businessman.

The obvious reason adulthood is considered the serious stage of your life: You don't smile that often.

Children smile up to 400 times a day. Adults only 15 on average! That means a child laughs 26 times harder or more often than you.

Conclusion: Smile. more. often. And if you laugh only once a day at least laugh really hard!

How often do you smile per day?

You're putting your soul into making your product, you're pouring your heart into talking about your product and how much effort it took to make it and you're presenting it so the bones of your audience keep vibrating even hours after your talk.

Some words on making products.

~PARADISE NONEXISTENT~

"The idea of a perfect life on the Hawaiian Islands is utter rubbish. The minute other people project perfection onto paradise, then true paradise is lost. I look at it this way: you know you’ve found your home when you love it because of–not in spite of–its imperfections."

‘Stephen Hawking’s final words to the internet: robots aren’t the problem, capitalism is’

“If machines produce everything we need, the outcome will depend on how things are distributed. Everyone can enjoy a life of luxurious leisure if the machine-produced wealth is shared, or most people can end up miserably poor if the machine-owners successfully lobby against wealth redistribution.”

I'm giving "The Archive" a serious try as a replacement for the macOS Notes app. It just launched today and it works with plain text storage, Markdown formatting, and comes with a clean interface.

Also great: You have 60 days to try and then can decide whether to pay those 20 euros to use it forever!
