By my count Windows Ten is about the 22nd version of Windows but that's probably missing a few
1, 2, 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, 3.11 for Workgroups, 3.5, 4, 95, 95OSR2, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, 2008, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 2012, 2012R2, 2016
numbers, how do they work
oh yeah let's not forget Windows for Pen Computing, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Windows Embedded, Windows Phone..
@natecull you also skipped XP 64, 2003, Vista, and Windows Core for IoT. and the N and KN SKUs of all of them after the antitrust suit.
@natecull but who's counting
@natecull Pocket PC 2003
@natecull you forgot XP Service Pack 3
@natecull throwing windows server in there is cheating
@natecull There was a Windows 4?!
@natecull 2.1 which came in /286 and /386 flavours. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_2.1x Say “above the line” and “below the line” to programmers of that era and watch them break out in a cold sweat.
Apparently there was also a 2.11 version but I don't remember that. And, why's 11 the next number after 1?
@natecull You missed Vista after XP. My favorite thing is they went from 8 to 10 because they string-match "95" or "98". So Windows 19 will be followed by 21, too.
@natecull don't forget the several different of versions of Windows 10, all called Windows 10
