What I love about the Web is that we've managed to wire together three languages - HTML, CSS and Javascript - that each have utterly different character-level syntaxes, down to quoting and escaping and reserved symbols, and expect the result to not just coexist in a single file, but interoperate. And then we wrap it in a fourth syntax, HTTP, and sometimes a fifth, PHP, for templating.

You'd think after 30 years we'd have invented something saner. But hello, we're humans, have you met us?

@natecull In a way, CFML and RXML made more sense for those who started with HTML. But times change. 🙂
