Granddaddy, why did everyone have to turn off their computers on the 99th of Thirtyonetember 2012?
Well child it was because that was a really strange year. Hadn't been a Thirtyonetember for a decade, leastwise not one with more than 80 days. We were real scared we'd get a three digit monthday, which would cause a byte overflow in the rainfall multipliers and there'd be jaguars falling from the skies, jaguars everywhere.
And did they? Did the jaguars fall?
Oh yes. But we made them parachutes.
