RT @qDot@twitter.com
Since full stack usually means not the full stack, I started using "electrons to electron".

I also really like @obra@twitter.com's "ShopVac to CSS".

Anyone else got terms for "yes full stack is nice but serious I have seen too much and I am so tired"?

Oh my goodness I've just learned a thing about The Matrix that causes it to make a lot more sense: In the original script the humans were used as neural network compute clusters by the Machines and as a crucial component of The Matrix itself.

Which is why humans who were aware of the simulation could control aspects of The Matrix - their minds were part of its foundation.

Unfortunately the test audiences had trouble understanding this concept so the studio changed the human role to "batteries".

One of the biggest lessons to learn in life is that you're allowed to say no, and when's the time to do it.

It's a lesson for your personal life, your work life, when you're interacting with friends and strangers alike.

Yet it often feels like we're taught to feel guilty for doing so, from our childhood on: you're not supposed to say "no" to someone, you say "yes" and "thank you".

The other lesson is respecting someone else's no without making them feel guilty.

🎉 I'm releasing new crossword software today! cursewords is a terminal-based interface for solving crossword puzzles while looking like a hacker. Opens most any .puz file on Mac or Linux. ✏️📓 parkerhiggins.net/2019/03/curs

@xor small bug report! the timer is showing times like "{h:02d}:31:54" -- format string error somehow?

@nelhage they're slower than a bike, feel less safe than a bike, and invariably the first three I try to find are broken or not where the app says they are, at which point I've lost so much time they're no faster than walking or transit, either.

I really want to like dockless kick scooters, and I support us aggressively experimenting with them as part of our urban transportation systems, but man, every time I try to get somewhere using one it ends up feeling like a mistake.

help I think I'm at risk of getting sucked into the fountain pen rabbit hole

I can only imagine the anguish that staunch non-programmers go through just doing mail merges with the CSVs of backer addresses Kickstarter provides

I'm sure nobody wants to hear about my "programming journey," but man... in this zine project alone, there a million little ways my life is easier because I can throw a tiny bit of code at it
