@nerflad it's also the fact that without the stats (analytics) people toot to interact vs self-promotion and brand building.

One thing I'm really liking is toot discoverability. I think this isn't only a result of the smaller/more rabid communit. It's also that there are no brands to crowd out the real people, and no options for to pay for favorable/more visible space.
On bird site I often feel like I'm tweeting into a void, despite having a lot more followers there. Even little ol' me gets a few faves and boosts!
