This work reveals the molecular basis of RNA recognition by Mei-P26 and the fundamental functional differences between otherwise very similar TRIM-NHL proteins.

I am very excited that our paper "Genome-wide mapping of SARS-CoV-2 RNA structures identifies therapeutically-relevant elements" is published as a breakthrough article by Nucleic Acids Research.
We contributed to the RNA 3D structure modeling of the well-structured parts of the coronavirus RNA genome and analyzed the druggable pockets - potential weak spots of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus RNA.

In the absence of mitigation, an expected 0.9 billion people would be infected in total, with a peak infection of 167 million people. 3 lock downs with 5 day relaxations period in between or a single 49 day lock down could reduce the number of cases to below 10.

Mathematical model of an infection can aid in qualitative understanding and quantitative prediction. It should not be used in isolation from other perspectives like economic, medical, social and ethical ones.

It was a great honor to receive the Innovative Student Projects Award 2019 (Thesis Award) at the Doctoral level during the Annual Convention of Indian National Academy of Engineering. The award ceremony was held at the Birla Institute of Scientific Research on 13th December 2019. The was for my PhD thesis entitled 'Sequence and structural analysis of RNAs and their interactions with proteins' done at Computational Structural Biology Lab, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
