I know that I travelled too much the last few weeks when I can't go to the office in the morning because I need to wait for my laundry to dry.

Time to take my 3D printing to Vaporwave city

Elliptic-curve cryptography n00b question:

What is the best way for me to learn exactly why using 325606250916557431795983626356110631294008115727848805560023387167927233504 as a public key value in Curve25519 yields a shared secret of 0?

Isn’t that value a point on the curve?

Buying a 3D printer upsides: Can create any conceivable three-dimensional object, super fun activity with romantic partner

Buying a 3D printer downsides: makes a cotton candy smell when printing, now I want cotton candy all the time

Stop it with the verified check marks. I get it. We all get it.

update: Admins can now easily close registrations with a custom message. In other news, I have closed registrations to mastodon.social for now ensure a quality of service for all existing ones, and to promote other federated nodes.

I drew this crab to help me with "clamping" my ED25519 public values. It also implements a new "sideways secrecy" property, an improvement over forward secrecy.

Mastodon's given me an idea for a small, quick but useful open web service I could probably write up in a weekend. I'll see if I can push it out soon.

Friends, @Gargron's going to have to scale up to support this crazy (and awesome) spike in new users. Let's pay the man: patreon.com/user?u=619786

(Also consider new instances, etc, but we all know mastodon.social's going to get most of the growth for the time being.)

I'm committing to Mastodon and no longer signing into Twitter until further notice. This is clearly the better alternative and the one that we should base Twitter-like experiences from now on.

I wish federated servers pooled resources automatically though. Even if I run my own Mastodon server on a very powerful machine, if I'm the only user I'm not going to be helping lift off load from the main mastodon.social instance.

Let's give this a fair shot, join me and make the same commitment!

If the infosec community continues to migrate at this rate, I'm not signing into Twitter anymore next month.

Incredible! A social media platform where I'm not blocked by almost everyone in information security!
