A word I bet a lot of people didn't know they needed:
fremdschämen, n. to feel ashamed about something someone else has done; to be embarrassed because someone else has embarrassed himself (and doesn't notice)
@noelle I feel that emotion every time I am at a party and I introduce someone. Then they talk themselves out of an introduction 😣
@noelle I don't have time for fremdschämen, I've got more than enough selbstschämen to deal with.

@noelle Nice to be able to put a name to it. This is exactly why I can't watch TV shows like The Office or anything where someone makes an ass of themselves. I feel it too deeply - I don't need to suffer through that with a fictional character.
