@noidea Well, I do the lines on paper, scan and then put the colour. For my purpose PS is not bad, but is tiring just to install it. I'll see if I can work with Paint Net, thanks!
@JonHawke It is a fairly lightweight install. Not as feature-rich as PS but has layers and selection tools and so on. Brush selection is non-existent, but the program can be extended with plug-ins if need be. Hope this helps
