Please read/share this Macleans article about Jenni Byrne who could be PP's chief of staff if he wins.
She is very much MAGA and a PP gov would likely be very MAGA.
She and PP dated for 10 years so they probably think alike.

IMO if PP wins then #Canada could become a puppet territory of the USA.

She ran PHSH 2015 campaign so we might see some extreme right-wing Con policies soon.

Elections in Canada are solid. Elections Canada does a fantastic job and, as an arms-length entity, report to nobody but Parliament as a whole, not the government.

I mention this because I've been thinking that some people have been consuming too much US media and believe we have the same problems as they do.

We do not.

Canada does not disenfranchise people, for one thing, and getting people to the polls is part of EC's core mission.

I'm thankful to be Canadian, and I don't feel like I need any extra attention or support right now. But that's not the case for most of my trans siblings in other parts of the world, including the USA. So I went ahead and deleted my bluesky account. The vibe over there, as I said in a previous post, is very American-centric, too much for me. Another thing I noticed is how much of it feels like a "hot takes" bulletin board for zoomers. The quality of feeds here on #Mastodon just feels significantly deeper.

I think I'll delete my bluesky account. I find it too American-centric + using an American social media site leaves me feeling uneasy rn + I haven't been there that long anyway.
