Do NFTs have merits? No.
Do cryptocurrencies have merits? At least you can buy some stuff with it, like illegal downloads. As a speculation/investment at least they don’t pretend you own anything and they can’t just easily make more of it as with NFTs.
Does blockchain have merits? If you’re in search of a really slow and inefficient way to store data that also ruins the environment, yes.

new red flag on the pile: writing tons of messages over and over with very short bits instead of one long chat message or a few lines.
Anyway this is the kind of ridiculous shit that I think of whenever I hear about the Metaverse. Serious business meetings attended by Daleks and attacked by flying penises
He also believed that Second Life was going to save the world from global warming because people would be able to meet virtually instead of travelling by plane to meet in real life
I think this was only a couple of years after the incident where a journalist reporting on Second Life got attacked by a swarm of flying penises
The metaverse reminds me of how 10+ years ago I saw a keynote speech from the CEO of Second Life who was convinced it was going to be "the future of business" because people could meet virtually
To demonstrate he showed a screenshot where people were watching a stream of a real-world presentation from inside Second Life and one of the people watching was a Dalek
@jk I did get about halfway into a python script that pasted all of Knee Deep in the Dead into a single map and retagged lines to eliminate tag number collisions, but the actual transition points are tricky.
Huge dub to https://github.com/dgilman/gspread_asyncio it's almost perfectly a drop-in replacement for gspread that supports asyncio with caching. It's amazingly useful.
also, to be clear, I can’t use it because a) I don’t have enough space behind my desk to place the “whiteboard” object (it has to be 180 degrees and ~2 metres behind your desk, for some reason) and b) my ergonomic keyboard isn’t one of the supported models it can recognise
I try to make actual things and always end up shitposting instead.
Making things is cool. You should play more abandonware.
