In lieu of the number of years teaching a subject, talk about the people you’ve taught and what they’ve done.
In lieu of the number of years you spent studying something, talk about the credentials you’ve earned.
In lieu of number of years as a friend, talk about the highs and lows you’ve made it through.
In lieu of number of years as a fan, talk about the emotional connection you have with the art.
In lieu of number of years in an industry, talk about the things you’ve made.
I’d love to stop seeing time as any type of proof, excuse, or justification.

i used to be really into having the newest computer gadget. now i use refurbished hardware. it's so much cheaper. it lasts. it reduces landfill waste. it's great, and i don't really feel like i am missing out on much tech-wise.
