'Mastodon Bridge' has done a bad job of finding people here that I already follow on Twitter, and there's a lot of manual adding needed. How does it make a link between their account and their Twitter account? Do they have to have used the features first too?

Hello @Mastodon! I joined the mastodon.network instance back in 2016, but it doesn't appear to exist any more so I've had to join again. What happens to my old account?
