GOP running as Democrats is the next step in the evolution of their dishonestly. He's not the only one & there's been a minor wave of obscure Dems suddenly changing parties once elected.

The trial run was running for school boards and sheriffs, explicitly nonpartisan positions, to make them partisan.

That last bit by the way is something we can change, by pushing election officials to admit the positions are now partisan, and treating them as such on the ballot.
