@elonjet i don't get how 9 tons of fuel produces 18 tons of emissions. Shoulda taken more science in school

@philipncohen @elonjet the oxygen in CO2 is from the atmosphere and not from fuel itself, but still count in produced CO2 mass.

Atomic number proportional to mass:
H - 1
C - 6
O - 8
Hydrocarbon fuels are basically C-H with a 1:2 ratio, or greater.

@philipncohen @spacefox Fun related issue - why water puts out fires. Vaporizing H20 absorbs a LOT of energy, and stores a lot of energy.
Which relates to hydrogen fuels without the carbon...because the next step of dissociating the H20 stores even more energy, IIRC.
