@phryk This device represents quite the opposite of democracy. It stands for the denial of even the basic human right to live. It is employed by regimes unable to handle dissent and eager to spread terror. It is materialized oppression, abuse of power and sadism. It is downright obscene to defend its use and utterly grotesque to insinuate it could somehow create democracy. The fact that the guillotine was conceived with "equality" in mind does not make it any better.
