@pixelfed I'd personally prefer PixelFed being a PWA (progressive web app).
I'd love to help out a little with design and CSS related tasks (if I could find some extra time somewhere).
@pixelfed Pinafore.social is a nice example of a PWA client for Mastodon.

PWA basically is a set of features to add to a web app to make it:
- offlineable (even partially — could mean less server load)
- available as an app on desktop and mobile devices
- integrate better with the native OS
- have additional storage options
It's not an all-or-nothing feature, but a collection of different optional features.
