Mind you I think there's power in creating all these frameworks. We just need to confront the physical reality that I'm not ever going to be able to afford the space and hardware for my own server because I don't get paid shit.

So is there anyone in the federated server space movement out there talking about organizing to open up servers at local libraries or other public funding?

Can #pixelfed allow people to look at photos without an account? Makes it feel less likely that it'll suffer from vendor lock in down the line.

That and I want to be able to send shit to my friends. At least with Mastodon people don't need an account if I send them a link to a post with global visibility
