Big Tech's growing monopoly power means that more and more people are looking for secure alternatives to Gmail that won't read their emails or profit off their data. Here's what makes our Swiss-based email service a good candidate for the top spot: https://protonmail.com/blog/gmail-alternative/
@protonmail To be clear I am interested in moving from Gmail to Protonmail but there is no point if you have signed up to the same coordinated closing of accounts with Big Tech.
I switched. I’m happy.
@Moon
Consider https://purelymail.com/, I switched from Protomail about 6-months ago and couldn't be happier.

@michaelfolkson Thank you for your interest in ProtonMail, and we're sorry for the delayed response.
Disabling ProtonMail accounts is based either on a recipient providing evidence of abuse, or on our algorithm scanning your behavior for patterns pointing out abusive activities like spamming. For more information, feel free to read this article: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/account-disabled/
@protonmail Ok thanks for the info.
@michaelfolkson @protonmail FWIW while not as easy as just getting protonmail, self hosting email is still quite doable. I personally use authsmtp for delivery to ensure there's no spam filter issues. Though I've also recently setup an email with direct delivery on an amazon vps, and had no issues sending email to Gmail at least. I did have dkim etc. all setup.
@protonmail I use proton mail and their VPN service for desktop and mobile. Happy customer so far. 👌
@johnnywisdom We're happy to hear that. Thank you for your continued support!
@protonmail @DrFauxi great alternative for G-mail if you're interested
@protonmail At the expense that those suspected of fleeing big tech are going to death row
@protonmail What is your position on closing accounts @protonmail? https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonMail/comments/ep7pgh/is_protonmail_aware_that_its_services_are_being/
