I've seen people recently criticizing folks for continuing to use Twitter in the wake of recent changes. Naunihal's point here is one that they'd do well to consider.
Mastodon =/= Twitter, because it doesn't want to be Twitter. That's great - more variety is good. But some of the features it lacks are features some communities really value - for them, there isn't yet a viable substitute.
