I mostly write about security and such, but every now and again I get to churn out a massive story about how to quit Twitter and start a new life here on Masto. I tried to cover as many bases as possible, but lmk if I missed anything really important!

i feel like everyone here has their own personal code for what they will and won't post or boost in regards to content warnings and it think that's good and valid and also really interesting and basically what im saying is i wanna see everyone else's tooting style guide

I went to order my afternoon latte and my barista asked me about Mastodon.

Seriously. This actually happened.

All he knows is that I sit in his coffee shop all day working on something having to do with Twitter and that there's a bunch of bad news about Twitter today.

The moderators of mastodon.social - including me - fielded one thousand reports between 4 PM US Eastern yesterday and 5 PM US Eastern today. I'm /pretty/ sure that's the longest queue I've seen since I started moderating there in May of last year.

Je connais déjà ProtonMail, mais certaines choses me dérangent :

Il faut, pour y accéder, utiliser soit le client Web, soit l'application – application qui contient des #trackers de chez l'ami #Google –, ce qui n'est pas pratique ( car au revoir Thunderbird et K9-Mail), et je n'ai pas envie d'avoir des milliers d'applications.

Je veux continuer ma dégooglisation.
