I'm genuinely interested in the reasoning behind this new design trend with wire/paperclip look for monochrome icons.
Compared with icons that use filled surfaces, these ones seem to generate unneeded visual noise, just like tables that use gridlines instead of alternating colors to distinguish rows.
Any insights from designers here? #design

@despens Might be explained by the pixel density offered by the modern screens and the use of thin typefaces? I am sure it won’t last long.
