One of the people who work in the staff canteen at work is really good at remembering everyone's names. Thousands of people. Even complicated, rare names. Even names she's heard just once. She's never got my name wrong, but when I went yesterday with my new beard, suddenly I was Ben and not Simon. I wonder if that sheds any light on how she does her feat of memory.
