Just learned today is very important anniversary: it's been 25 years since the TV movie pilot for Babylon 5 was first broadcast.
Alongside Dune, B5 is my favourite science-fiction novel saga.
Making a TV show with a five-year story arc was a remarkable achievement for J Michael Straczynski. But on top of showrunning B5, JMS was the sole or lead writer for 90 of its 110 episodes! I'm not sure any writer of a US TV show has matched that record.
