Pinned toot

time: Man, I am terrible at these. See bio for starters. We have two amazing adopted daughters of different ethnicity (from us, not each other.) I think Berkman's ABCs of is amazing. I suffer from some unholy mix of GAD, depression & OCD, although often those around me suffer more, I think. I've been a UNIX (ish) for higher ed forever & a day. I dig & Marvel comics & webcomics & the DC TV shows & the & Android & web programming & stuff. ๐Ÿ˜“

Mastodon is where I come to reply to completely random stuff on the Local timeline(s) and it is pretty glorious tbh

And now my favorite part of the day: trying to figure out what to do for lunch while nursing a headache and still having a lot of mouth pain after a series of dental procedures. Some restaurant needs to just tube feed me curry or something

Honestly, there are days I miss using mh for my email.

That usually passes pretty quickly though.

Burned off one day this week moving into Toodledo, then burned off today moving back out and into todo.txt. Rocking it old school, by which I mean control freak combined with cheapskate. I gotta be me. I guess?

Watching my family send each other hangouts messages from their phones because they've lost each other in a Walmart

Okay going home now because the local timeline is sucking me in and I should, well, go home instead of watching it all mesmerized and whatever

One line of CSS made the Mastodon web interface so much better for me. I used Stylebot to apply it, but whatever works for you. Anyway: { flex-grow: 1; }

Makes the columns fill all available space. I have a big iMac at work. The unused space was bugging me.

Just watched a non-linear episode of (from season 12.) Maaaaaan I love non-linear storytelling and no I am definitely not being sarcastic or anything. Does anyone remember Boomtown? With Neal McDonough? Its first season was all done non-linear and I loved it. Then I guess suits declared it too hard to follow or something because season two they stopped. Then it got cancelled. Lesson, people.

Anyway. I sure enjoy that kind of thing. Good ep.

Hello. Remember, everybody, you're cool and you can do amazing things. High-five yourself. Forgive yourself. Be awesome to yourself.

okay bye gotta get back to this book

I appear to have accidentally forgotten to read new webcomics for the last two weeks. If you knew about my last two weeks, it'd actually seem reasonable, but the fact remains that I have a lot of catching up to do while more new webcomics keep being made.

Guys, my Acer R11 Chromebook? Still rad. I mean Chrome, yes, obviously very useful to me. And then I fold back the keyboard and fire up Android apps and basically play and on its 11" touch screen. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Watching Scrubs.

get used to this, you'll be seeing it a lot, as Scrubs is my antidepressant

For me, Twitter and Mastodon fulfill two discrete functions.

Mastodon is a place where I can go to have light, pleasant exchanges with people I've never met.

Twitter is where I go to be told that God will murder my family with a hammer because I had to tinkle in a public restroom.

Both important, obviously.

I wonder if I should have jumped so hard on doing the abandon-anonymity thing here, as well. Hm.
