Getting some Qs about Delta availability, hope this clarifies things!

• Delta is exclusive to AltStore in EU
• Because of Apple’s new dev terms, all downloads in EU cost us €0.50/yr in AltStore PAL *and App Store*…so couldn’t offer Delta in EU App Stores without making it paid
• App Store only supports one-time paid-upfront apps, so we’d have to pick a price that could support ~years of CTFs
• PAL’s €1.50 covers Delta’s CTF
• We’d make everything free everywhere if it wasn’t for the CTF 🙂

@rileytestut Yeah, and it shows complete stupidity of this.

One question though: is it possible to create TWO accounts: one with "regular" rules and second one for EU-exclusive apps? 🤔

@kkolakowski they have an explicit rule against having the “same app” listed on multiple developer accounts 🙃

@aslmewes @kkolakowski we’ll have more on that soon! Current priority is answering support 😅

@rileytestut Ah, ok - that makes sense... So if I'll create a separate account for (exclusive) apps to distribute in AltStore for example - it should be ok, right? 😏

@kkolakowski in theory…but you didn’t hear it from me 🤫

@rileytestut this emulator is so good. I was so surprised that it had acellerometer support so we could play games like WarioWare Twisted. Something I haven’t been able to do on my Analogue Pocket without buying the cartridge for $150 US

@monorailtimes that’s probably my favorite feature! also one of my favorite games 😁

@rileytestut is it possible to install AltStore PAL on two iPhones with the same Apple ID ? I want to install it in my old iPhone too but right now it doesn’t seem to work

@iCesck @rileytestut i tried it on a second iPhone (with iOS 17.5b2) but the download button does nothing.

@iCesck @rileytestut I think that has to do with the CTF. And the download is limited to the initial device. But maybe it is an error. 😅

@apfeltalk @rileytestut it makes sense for me. As soon as I can I’ll try to purchase it on the other phone and see what happens.

@rileytestut Thank you for awesome app! Please consider to add support for Sega games emulation for the Delta version in the App Store.

@rileytestut can you also clarify why won’t you put delta out of altstore pal and put it in App Store in EU, avoiding ctf?

@piyuv I explained that in the post :) The CTF applies to the App Store too in EU, unfortunately

@rileytestut not if delta isn’t listed in a 3rd party App Store though, right? So if delta is only listed in App Store, and nowhere else, no ctf would apply

@piyuv we already agreed to the new terms in order to launch AltStore, and Apple doesn’t allow going back once you distribute an app on another store (which we already had by the time they changed the App Store rules)

@piyuv (even if Delta isn’t distributed on AltStore, it still costs us €0.50 with new terms)

@rileytestut thanks for clarifying! So to make what I said possible, you’d have to create a new Apple developer account and then Apple could, theoretically, claim that what you’re doing is against the ToS. Or if that’s not the case, you wouldn’t want to do that to show the world that Apple is causing this headache, which I’d fully agree

@piyuv yup exactly, if we made another developer account and put Delta on it then Apple could terminate it (and our main one) for violating ToS 🙃

@rileytestut so once you distribute an app through a 3rd party store, you cannot change your mind and switch to apple’s. This is crazy. Thank you for explaining it. I’ve seen online people blaming you, arguing that you did it to promote altstore in eu, so I wanted to clarify this with you. In reality it’s apple’s malicious compliance.

@piyuv @rileytestut Yep, just one of the malicious compliance ways Apple has built to abuse developers opting in the new DMA provisions.

Hopefully all of them are ruled ilegal soon!

@rileytestut @piyuv Man, I really hope the EU whacks Apple over the head for this. This directly limits the ability of EU users to have the full experience. No Mac-version. No iPad-version. Stuck on a tiny screen forever (or until the EU tells Apple to stop shenaningans - but considering the speed of the EU, this will be the status quo for the forseeable future). It'd also suck to have proper Firefox on iPhone and gimped Firefox on iPad. iOS:=iPadOS.

@rileytestut Would it make sense to make it something like 1,50€ on the EU App Store?
To help covering Apple charges and following the “it has to be paid” rule?

@rileytestut was not confused as I have no ability to download it. German Apple ID and currently living in Canada. So no Delta for me.

@rileytestut A friend of mine from the Faroe Islands can’t install Delta from either source because the Faroe Islands are not part of the EU so no access to AltStore, but they also don’t have a separate App Store region, they use Denmark’s, which is in the EU. Edge cases like this show how Apple’s awful petty rules hurt their users.

@mrkn you mean the EUs petty rules. It was all one big market until they screwed it up.

@rileytestut so not possible to have it on the iPad in the EU? Bummer 🙁

@rileytestut So….in a nutshell, you WOULD submit Delta to both AltStore and the EU App Store if you could, but the terms have already been agreed upon at this point.

@rileytestut will wireless link appear in an upcoming update to delta? I love the emulator and can wait if it will take time to re-implement it

@Calment definitely a feature I want and plan to add, but will require a lot of work before it’s ready 😅

@rileytestut first, thank you. Second, I hope you consider developing an AppleTV version of Delta 🤞🏼

@rileytestut how can I stop the €1.5 yearly subscription? Does it stop automatically once I uninstall the app from a particular device where I downloaded it?

@rileytestut Apple does not charge CTF for iPadOS, visionOS and macOS app downloads in the EU.
