There’s very manly men builders in my house and I don’t know how to interact.

I might have to do something about the things I do care about until those accounts/people are on here. Maybe RSS (remember that?), maybe use Twitter only for news accounts.

I didn’t actively use Twitter yesterday, only Mastodon. I went into Twitter today to see what I was “missing out on”. Obviously there’s some individuals who aren’t on here, but for the most part it’s was “news": politics, web dev, stupid tech stuff.

I’m not going to deactivate my Twitter account yet, but I feel a lot better for not having consumed all that bullshit.

Hiya, new followers! I’ve got an easy request for you: Let’s make folks of all and no genders feel a little more seen, heard, and respected.

When you’ve got a sec, consider adding your pronouns to your Mastodon bio. 💛

Follow up: I found them. Thanks for your support during this difficult time.

I don’t care about using iOS for “real work", so Drafts isn’t something I use. But the Mac version is something I’m very interested in:

If you’re using Mastodon on a Mac inside Fluid ( and you’ve paid for Fluid, you can add userstyles to change the UI.

I moved the tab bar to the side and remove some of the padding to make it feel closer to a proper app, styles are here:

Only thing I’m missing is using command+n to add a new Toot, but I’m not sure that’s possible because Fluid uses that for new window.

I’m a developer working on property-related things, plus some side projects:

I have a podcast with @Johnvoorhees about whatever we want, mostly tech, games, and plastic bags

I use the 🤔 and 🧐 emoji and lot and I post stupid jokes that are sometimes funny*

*there was one joke, once (

i saw a toot about it elsewhere but i can’t find it so: basically don’t trust mastodon for things you want to stay Actually Private. instance admins can read DMs, and instance admins can read the private posts of anyone their users follow. this is sort of inherent to the current architecture. and for all twitter’s sins, i trust the admins to not leak random people’s DMs more than i trust every instance admin ever.

Got on the beta for @tootapp, this is looking very nice so far.
