The true test of mastodon will be if people use it to talk about anything other than mastodon
@rootsworks Quick, choose a non-Mastadon topic!
@FelixArden I've been trying to talk about videogames and auto repair in rural measure!
@FelixArden uh. Equal measure. Thanks, swipe keyboard.
@rootsworks What sort of games do you like?
@FelixArden Been playing a lot of breath of the wild lately! Finished night in the woods last month. Got adr1ft, abzu, and among the sleep in my list to play next.
@rootsworks Breath of the Wild looks like it has a very attractive atmosphere, just like Windwaker does. And NITW, I'll probably get around to playing eventually.
@rootsworks Puzzle adventures along the lines of Myst are what really strike my fancy, though.
.@rootsworks @FelixArden I've almost got one-third of the way through my first full game of Crusader Kings: Deus Vult, which came out in 2007 and that I bought in like 2011!
@rootsworks I'm already seeing a couple of writers I know use it to talk about their work.
@Terrana Yeah I was kind of half-joking, I've been using mastodon to talk about lots of stuff for months, it's just the recent surge in users seems to have made mastodon the subject of mastodon again
@rootsworks It's certainly on my mind. I'm running an unexpectedly-large instance and I'm not sure if I can handle it.
@rootsworks A storm of cat pics begin, the beginning of the end
@rootsworks I wonder if Twitter was equally navel-gazing in the beginning?
It is fun, though, because it's something we all have in common.
@nolan I've been on Twitter for like eight years now and I still mostly just use Twitter to talk about Twitter, so
@rootsworks or anything other than "lol how i get verified" jokes
