A common whine among the some internet trolls is that “assault weapons” is an undefined term and well basically exactly what @rotatingskull posted.
Which is bs. California managed to define a certain classes of weapons as assault weapons. So have other states. Yes, we may have to fight this slog state by state, and over the useless bodies of politicians the NRA bought, but it can be done.
