The closure of G+ is upsetting to some folks because they built communities there. Acting smug because you didn't build your community there is akin to laughing at folks who are having their community destroyed because of a developer bulldozing their park.
It's not cute.
(And yes, I'm guilty of it too)
@craigmaloney we should reach out to G+ folk and help them migrate to the open side of things.
They've been burnt by the corporate social media, they might be interested in trying something new.
"In addition there are optional special features including extra storage (8GB is free, and 50GB is $4.99 per month), Secret Chat (like WhatsApp only without their egregious tracking) for $.99 cents per month, Custom Emojis at $.99 cents a packet, plus MeWe Pages (coming soon) at $1.99 per month, and special games exclusive to MeWe members."
AHAHAHAhahahahah hahaha ha ha ha ha haaaa haaaa haaaaaaaah oooooh woooow.
That's Stockholm Syndrome right there.
@craigmaloney sorry, but for people who -- after their communities are getting killed by a corporate centralized social network operator -- are moving to a new shiny corporate centralized social network operator to create communities there, I have almost zero sympathy.
This is their own choice, and they deserve what's coming their way.
That's not to say that what corporate social media operators are doing is okay, obviously it is not.
