Great. 🤦‍♀️

> All of these features are available only on Google Play Store, which sounds like a no-brainer but has important implications for some Android developers. Unlike APKs, Android App Bundles cannot exist outside of Google Play and cannot be distributed outside of it. This means that developers switching from APK to App Bundles can no longer provide the exact same package or experience on other app sources unless they opt to maintain a separate APK version.

@rysiek just more of google trying to force users into it, seems like more companies are doing this now... so much for a portable file type

@rysiek Nonfree software ecosystems can only get worse.

@rysiek Eh, its just Google being Google. I’m sure it irritates them that things like GrapheneOS exist and this is a method to make the experience a little worse. Assuming, I suppose, that Aurora doesn’t find some clever way to make it work anyway.

@shebang @rysiek i think aurora already does bundles. I wont swear to it though.

@shebang it's not just GrapheneOS, it's also LineageOS and others, plus being able to install Android apps on alternative non-Android-based systems like SailfishOS.
