I've been trying to figure out why no MMO besides SWTOR grabs my interest, and I think I solved it today: it's the cutscenes.
Yes, sometimes the voice acting is wonky and the animation is canned, but the fact that every interaction you have *is* voiced and animated makes it feel so much more engrossing.
WoW's "read a million scrolls" system of doling out quests and finishing them is just really, really bland in comparison.
