Interesting theory

“Younger developers are falling in love with older programming languages”

techrepublic.com/article/heres

There may be a tilt toward older languages among younger devs, but even in the article it says they stick to what they’re taught in schools

And consider how much code already exists out there. You still gotta eat

While hacking in a new language sounds cool, you’re more likely to find stable work if you know Python, C/C++, Java and so on

Young people aren’t dumb
Just broke

@cypnk interesting, I was expecting someone mentions or but it shows my age :)

@saper Forth may be making a comeback in the hackerspace. It's the most flexible language I know of it can be easily implemented in hardware

@cypnk I'd like to see it being used more in the space. Using interactively was so refreshing. Sadly does not seem to be taking over the 3D printing world, either :(

@saper Give it a bit more time. Arduino is only now making waves in schools so you're going to see a whole new generation getting exposed to these ideas for the first time

3D printing is pretty much the domain of GCode so PostScript may not be making waves

@cypnk I hope so. Yeah I mean something higher level than which feels like late 1950s.
