I feel really bad about blowing up awoo.space! Did not mean to, people should definitely look at instance rules / info before they start signing up for one! (mastodon.xyz is a good starter as far as I can tell)

@sarahjeong Explaining the significance of instance choice should be a larger, more obvious part of the onboarding. Bare minimum, display the rules and force agreement in a pop up during registration.

@sarahjeong it's not really your fault, instances should really put their rules front and center when you click on them from the public instances page. It's hard to find info about them until after you've already made an account.

@courtney @sarahjeong yeah, especially since the landing is p much identical it's extremely easy to overlook. would probably be beneficial to have a intermediary page when signing up on other instances that restate the other rules before you complete signing up maybe
