Hey folks. Doin' the dual instance thing, will mostly be posting/following from @sashakovich from this point forward, so if you see a new follow from there, it's me! For realsies!
Food Show more
Today for dinner is just a big ol goddamn bowl of raw vegetables, basically the last three that I'm not allergic to, and the other one that I'm not willing to stop eating anyway
I might need to open my facebook account for like, a week, so I can send a message to a woman I'm *90% sure* is the designer of a sweater. The platform it was sold on has collapsed completely, and as best I can tell, was only available digitally.
I wanna make this weird sweater super bad O_O #knitting

Misadventures in Academia Show more
Formally rejected from the grad class I wanna take. I asked them what the appeals process was; crickets.
Called the Dean’s office where I got even more contradictory information, basically “no idea why they told you any of that, the last time we let an undergrad take a grad course was because their visa was expiring and they wanted to graduate before their time ran out.”
I’m not sure what to do next. Too annoyed to give up, too frustrated to email the relevant prof.
Sexuality Show more
I think that at this point my sexuality might just be 'perpetually queer-flagged.'
My poly dating life might be easier AND more adventurous if They really were trying to turn the frogs gay.
Death Show more
A close family friend died on Wednesday night. Another close friend of my father is waiting on an assessment for organ harvesting, and another was also hospitalized - not sure how he is faring at the moment. They are all men in their 70s who lived lives with the sort of chemical exposure where this isn’t a surprise, but all three in one week, well, it’s been a hard week.
Find someone you love and give them a squeeze for me, would ya?
Hey dudes of Mastodon! Can you leave the mansplaining on those other sites and not bring it here? It's easy! When you see a post from a woman you don't know:
✔️ Be friendly or insightful. Both is better!
✔️ Assume she knows the subject, even if you think she just made an error
✔️ Ask good-faith questions about her context
✔️ "Yes! And..."
❎ Give unsolicited advice
❎ Act like she knows nothing about the subject
❎ Presume she wants to (or has any responsibility to) debate you.
Frothing Academia Show more
After 11 days with no news about my petition to take a grad course, I called the school and said "Hey y'all what gives" and they said "good question let me poke it"
Today I get a call saying that my petition was rejected, not because the grad class didn't work as an elective, but because they didn't feel I was prepared to take the class. I said "what about that time you said I was?" and they said "When did we say that?" so now I'm forwarding them their own emails and FUUUUUUUUU
Injuries, Bassist life Show more
I played hard enough last night that I blistered the skin straight off three out of five fingers on my right hand. The day after, where touching everything is both slightly irritating and also more wonderfully sensitive, is one of my favorite side effects of playing too hard.
If'n you happen to be in the Detroit area and are wondering what there is to do tonight, consider coming to the Trumbullplex. There's a vegan potluck starting at six, and from seven to eleven what can best be described as an 'eclectic' group of bands, ranging from witchpop to folk to our very own spooky band for spooky people.
