so starting a toot with an @mention does NOT make the toot only visible to followers of yourself and person you're @mentioning (as it does on the bird network). Seems like those types of privacy choices are made only via the dropdown menu https://mastodon.social/media/kGoXmlDBMyy6Fo_OhDg
