Well here is my . I'm a former academic (philosophy) and currently a stay at home dad. I'm a self taught programmer and data nerd. Most of my posts will be about gardening, dumb jokes, indie video games, science fiction, programming languages, philosophy and parenting. Also I will regularly make fun of crypto.

OK. I'm going to try migrating between instances. Let's see how this goes. If it doesn't work, you may need to manually follow me at @Scmbradley@mathstodon.xyz

Has any mastodon instance admin written up a blog post just about the raw numbers of hosting an instance. Like, on average, how much storage and how much bandwidth per user are we talking?

Remarkable tablet has added the option to add a notes page into a PDF. This is great and makes my work flow so much easier! (although since I'm no longer working as an academic, this may well be irrelevant...)

Having trouble making aliases between my mastodon accounts. Can someone who knows what they're doing help me out?

North Leeds toots

That soviet era government building looking Starbucks in Chapel Allerton is weird.

I've made two jokes about archery butts (here and on birdsite) and neither got the likes they deserved.

Pearls before swine.

someone who has only seen shadows projected on a cave wall: i'm getting real shadows projected on a cave wall vibes from this

"Anyone who considers arithmetical methods of producing random digits is, of course, in a state of sin" - John von Neumann.

Politics is basically prospective: I promise to do a good job managing things. And if you approve of my promises, you reward me with power.

What would a retrospective politics look like? We give power to someone, and if we approve of what they do with it, we punish them with... what?
