Sometimes, the New Zealand landscape takes my breath away, even on a dull and rainy day

Yeah, I'm at the point in my life where my hair is thinning. I'm not going to do a Shatner and go with a bad rug. instead, my goal is to gracefully bald like Sir Patrick Stewart. Except that I'll never be close to being as cool as Sir Pat

I won't be publishing much, beyond a some articles at Opensource.com and infrequent posts for the Plain Text Project. What happens after that ... I guess we'll see at the end of June (3/3)

Over the next six months, I'm going to try to hone my writing chops and try to build my confidence back up. It's not going to be an easy slog, but it's definitely a slog I need to undertake (2/3)

You're not going to be hearing a lot from me over the next few months. Why? I'm taking a step back. A number of reasons for that, but mainly because I've lost a lot of confidence in my abilities as a writer. I need to take that step back to regroup (1/3)

I want 2018 to be the year that Apple stops including empty _MACOSX directories in every zip file their users create.

I swear I've deleted over a thousand of them in the past decade.

I just realized it's 2018 (at least, in my part of the world). Should have real. That tempus do fugit ...

I had to move outside my non-techie bubble a bit, and had a couple of rush-of-sh*t-to-the-heart moments thinking I'd bricked the tablet, but the deed is done. My Galaxy Tab is now Google free

It's hard to believe that not only the week, but 2017 is coming to a close. Which means I'm offline for a couple of days.

Take care, stay safe, stay out of trouble. See you in 2018!

'Unexpected error'? C'mon! What error is actually expected?

All I need to to now is to make sure that my godson walks the path. That's the next phase in my plan! 😈

Got my godson a starter kit for Christmas and he loves it. Turns out it was an inspired choice, as he's in a coding club at school.

Nice to know that even though we're thousands of kilometres and several time zones apart that I can still have an influence ...

If people keep approaching you for advice, the best way to make them stop is by telling them you charge $50 an hour for that advice
